Professor Chen Shuai, Associate Professor of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, gives a lecture on general knowledge in our school: The hazards and countermeasures of plastic pollution.

    On the afternoon of November 22, the lecture organized by the School of Foreign Language and Cultural Communication (General Education Center) started smoothly. Associate Professor Chen Shuai, from the School of Resources and Environment Engineering, was invited to give a lecture entitled The Fast Decision of Plastic War - The Hazards and Countermeasures of Plastic Pollution. The seminar was hosted by Dr Tao Jiang, General Education Centre, in Room 4106.

    Chen Shuai is mainly engaged in research on recycling waste lithium batteries, construction of zero-price iron and carbon-based environmental functional materials and water pollution control, and has been approved for 11 projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, and participated in 8 projects in the EU and the Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published 21 papers and 4 patents as the first or corresponding author, compiled one chapter of English works, and served as the young editorial board of Water Purification Technology and the reviewer of many Chinese and foreign periodicals.

    In that general education lecture, associate professor Chen Shuai combine the research results of the connotation construction project of Shanghai university think tank, This paper introduces the current situation of plastic pollution, the ecological toxicity of plastic, the policy of plastic pollution control, and the recycling of plastic, so that the students can understand what plastic pollution is and the potential ways to solve it.
